ACADEMIC COUNCIL |

The Academic council
consists of Officers and Surveyors of the Mercantile
Marine Department and eminent persons from the Shipping
Industry, and is headed by the Principal Officer, Mercantile
Marine Department. The council carries out periodic
audits
of Maritime Training Institutions and records their
findings.
To date-other than a few minor discrepancies, the audits
and inspections have found the training programmes being
conducted as stated |

to ISO 9001 : 2000 quality standards by IRQS. The institutions
was certified to in 1998, with re certification being
done in 2001, and 2004. The record of the re certification
