SKILL

A ship at sea being a self sustaining unit, the crew on board is expected to handle breakdowns, and get the ship to the next port. With communication improving dramatically and getting cheaper, it is often possible for ship staff to discuss problems with the office or the manufacturer. Transfer of the required information or knowledge could lead to the problem being sorted out.

This however is not true of skills. No amount of talking or remote guidance can help a person to weld. CIMeT therefore runs courses in such areas where skills require to be developed. Such training is done under proper guidance and the competence acquired assessed and tested at the end of the course.

Areas in which CIMeT regularly conducts or has developed courses include

  • Electric Arc Welding
  • TIG Welding
  • Machinist Module
  • Pipe Fitter/ Fabricator Module
  • Plater Module
  • Riding repair Squad Fitter - Capability Assessment.

Arc welding course at different levels commence every week. Other courses are conducted on demand, please click here to contact us for your requirements or dates.
